Little Asia: Symphony of Flavors

23 Jun

I was once again lured to purchase a groupon from Mega Deals. This time, I got hold of a coupon which offers 50% off a sumptuous Asian Fusion Meal at Little Asia.

First, let me tell you something about Little Asia. Little Asia offers a wide selection of popular dishes from different Asian countries such as, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. The restaurant is a recipient of a number of distinctions such as Best Asian Fusion Restaurant by People’s Choice Awards in 2010 and has been consistently awarded as one of Philippines’ Best Restaurants by Philippine Tatler since 2004.

Now, back to the offer. For just P250, a friend and I were able to enjoy their bestselling Thai Chicken Pandan and Combination Chow Mien Noodles.

A plate of Thai Chicken Pandan P235 comes with six pieces of beautifully wrapped and perfectly cooked chicken pieces.  A hint of steam and pandan aroma come out as you slice through the package.

Add to that, unlike the usual Chicken Pandan, this one has corn kernels in it. The corn kernels added the sweet texture to this dish.

The Combination Chow Mien Noodles P245 has the right balance of toppings and noodles. Taste-wise, it was just okay. If there’s one thing they should improve, it would be the aesthetic appeal of the dish. It looks a bit scattered and messy when served.

Of course, a meal wouldn’t be complete without a cup of Steamed White Rice P50. My friend and I just shared one serving given the carbo overload from the noodles.

My friend ordered their Root Beer Float P95. They used a can of Mug Root Beer and topped it with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

As for me, I had a glass of their Fresh Calamansi Juice P95. It was a bit too sour that I had to request for more ice to temper it.

To date, Little Asia has three branches, namely at:

Tomas Morato  195-B Tomas Morato Ave., cor. Sct. Fuentebella, Quezon City. (02) 373-0609, (02) 410-4937

Promenade Greenhills  2nd Level Promenade Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila. (02) 727-5265, (02) 727-5785

The Venice, McKinley Branch The Venice, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. (02) 798-0354
